Update on Building a Blog Network
If you saw the last post then you know I'm on a mission to make casual blogs and RSS feeds an old-new way to replace social media. Here's some updates:
- Had lots of great responses and several people who shared their blogs; I've added them to my feeds
- While looking around for an RSS reader I stumbled upon feeeed which is built by one of my favorite product designers/devs Nate Parrott (did a lot of work on the Arc web browser). I've always appreciated the spark and life their work brings to the web and feeeed is no exception; beautiful app!
- I want to keep my feeds link updated but didn't want to constantly hand type each addition, especially since I've started adding them to a reader app on my phone while I'm on the move. So I just had Claude write a script that converts exported OPML files to markdown lists, making it a lot easier to update! Check out the code here
- I'm thinking about putting together a site specifically designed to push this vision and explain it in simple terms so anyone can participate, and I might include an index of feeds as well. Would love any feedback on that if you're interested.
- Thankful for cloudy days, hot coffee, and building Legos with my kids
Until next time
