Saw some of the drama surrounding Omarchy recently and decide to share some thoughts on the distro and distro philosophy in general
I've been playing around with my home server (a BeeLink SER8 which I've named Benson... as in Barry Benson) and this weekend decided I wanted to add a window manager. Already messed around with Hyprland as well as i3, but didn't feel like using either of them. Then I stumbled into dwm, customizing it, patches... yeah I'm hooked. Insanely lightweight, and oddly satisfying to edit the source code directly and recompile every time you want to change something. Fun stuff!
Putting a small pause on Alcove until Evolu has finished their big release which will come with some breaking changes. Would rather deal with all of that at once when it's ready rather than try to keep up while it's under development. Exciting stuff though because I think I'll have the option to do passkeys instead of passphrases 👀
Got to record two tapes with my new tape deck this morning which was such a vibe. Ordered a portable cassette player and can't wait to use it while I work this week! 📼
